Baltimore NACE 2018 Holiday Party Meeting Recap

This year was closed out with a Holiday Bash to remember! 2018 was a great year for Baltimore NACE, with new members joining, several members earning their CPCE (Certified Professional Catering Executive) Certification, and Excellent educational programs. The final event of the year was held at the Lord Baltimore Hotel, in the French Kitchen restaurant. Guests entered the hotel lobby to the amazing sights of the uniquely decorated holiday trees, and then followed their ears to the festive sounds of Sly 45, Watershed Entertainment’s flagship band, who performed oldies, holiday tunes, and newer songs throughout the evening. A bountiful buffet pleased the palate. It included a charcuterie board, smoked salmon, butternut squash shooters, and even bread pudding -- just to name a few. Accompanying the food were delicious beers and wines, and a specialty red Sangria that looked as festive as it tasted.
Joining us that evening was NACE National’s brand new Executive Director, Lawrence Leonard. He has been making his rounds, getting to know each chapter, and was thrilled to visit Baltimore, one of the strongest chapters, which also happens to be in NACE Headquarters’ own back yard.
Lawrence had the honor of installing the incoming Board of Directors for 2019. Before the new board members were sworn in and the incoming committee chairs were acknowledged, Lawrence took a moment to thank the outgoing board members who dedicated so much time and energy to the chapter in 2018.
‘Tis the season for giving, and WOW this chapter gave so much for the St. Francis Holiday Collection. The chapter’s winter community service project exceeded everyone’s expectations, and our family of 8 will be better off this winter, thanks to the generous donations of items like toiletries, clothing, games, and school supplies. Thank you to everyone who contributed goods or cold hard cash to make a world of difference to these families’ holidays.
