The latest from your National Board of Directors

Aligning for the future
The NACE multiyear strategic plan, announced in 2017, calls for creating a transparent, aligned and sustainable association for our members. As part of this effort, the NACE National Board took a key step in assuring we reach our full potential as an organization and examined ways to improve the effectiveness of the Board.

As a result, the NACE National Board has concluded that NACE should follow the lead of our chapters and move to calendar year terms for National Board officers and directors. By following the example set by our chapters, NACE will become more strategic through better alignment with our annual planning, budget process, fiscal year and committee volunteer timelines.

What does this look like?
To accomplish this alignment, the current NACE Board will serve until December 31, 2019. NACE will continue to hold elections at Experience, and Board members elected at the 2019 NACE Experience Conference will take their elected positions on January 1, 2020. At that time, all terms will run from January 1 to December 31 of each year.

The voting powers of membership will be unaffected, and everything related to the election process remains unchanged from our current policies and bylaws. Elections will continue to be held at Experience using the same qualifications, nominations, delegate and voting policies and procedures.

With a membership of 3,500 catering and event professionals and growing, our focus continues to be on developing this vibrant community, providing you with the information and resources you need to thrive, and enhancing the strength of chapters and the involvement of members.

Your comments and questions are welcome
